Common name: Norway maple.

Brief description: A medium-sized to large tree with wide-spreading crown. Leaves are simple, opposite, palmately lobed (5-7 lobes) with a few large teeth, palmately veined; the veins beneath are pubescent. The petioles have milky latex (distinguishing feature).  Flowers are bisexual, yellow-green in erect, rounded corymbs. Fruits are are a double samara with one-seeded winged mericarp, the wings spreading at nearly 180o

Campus data: Rarely cultivated on campus. A couple of individuals encountered.
