Brief description: A monoecious shrub to a small tree. Leaves are smallish, oval to oblong-lanceolate, often curved, leathery and shiny above, pale beneath, simple, opposite, entire. The lower surface of the leaf is conspicuously rusty with villous tomentum. Flowers are pale green, staminate ones axillary, pistillate ones - terminal. Fruits are ovoid dehiscent caps.
