Common name: Fringe tree.

Brief description: A tall, functionally dioecious shrub to a small tree. Leaves are lance-elliptic to oblong or obovate, simple, opposite, entire, pinnately veined, margins entire. Flowers are seemingly perfect, conspicuously white, in many-flowered drooping panicles from the axils of the previous year. Fruits are a dark-blue ovoid to ellipsoid drupe. 

Campus data: Rare on campus. Cultivated in a couple of spots, and occasionally encountered in the wild.
