Common name: Washington-thorn.

Brief description: A shrub to a small tree. Leaves are ovate to cordate, simple, alternate, with 1-4 lateral lobes, margins coarsely and irregularly serrate-toothed, the petiole eglandular. Flowers are perfect, white, fragrant, in compound glabrous cymes. Fruits are bright-scarlet pome with 3-5 nutlets. 

Campus data: Cultivated abundantly in only one campus location.  Not encountered in the wild on campus.
