Brief description: A polygamo-dioecious tree to 30 m. Leaves are very long, to 1 m (picture on left shows a single leaf), bipinnately compound, alternate; the basal pinnae can be single leaflets; leaflets are ovate, entire, pinnately veined, margins entire. Flowers are perfect or unisexual, greenish-white, in terminal panicles. Fruits are an indehiscent, broadly oblong, woody pod.
Campus data: Very rare on campus. One cultivated individual encountered.
