Brief description: I. opaca x I. cassine. An evergreen, polygamo-dioecious tree. Leaves are leathery, thick, obovate to oblanceolate, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, margins occasionally, variously distally spiny-toothed. Flowers are mostly unisexual, in few-flowered axillary cymes. Fruits are a small, clustered, scarlet drupe.
