Common name: Yaupon.
Voucher: Kostadinov 091, 199, (URV) Brief description: An evergreen, polygamo-dioecious shrub to a small tree to 8 m. Leaves are leathery, thick, oval to oblong or elliptic, small, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, glabrous, margins finely crenate. Flowers are mostly unisexual, the staminate in axillary short-peduncled cymes, the pistillate in sessile cymes. Fruits are a bright red drupe. Campus data: Occasionally cultivated on campus. A dwarf cultivar (cv 'nana') was also encountered.
