Common name: European mock-orange.

Brief description: A shrub to 4 m. Leaves are ovate to ovate-oblong, simple, opposite, entire, glabrous except on the main veins' axils beneath, margins remotely dentate. Flowers are perfect, white, very fragrant, sometimes with visible nectar, in terminal racemes of 5-7. Fruits are an obovoid capsule.
