Brief description: P. serrulata x P. glabra.  A large, evergreen shrub. Leaves are thick, shining, elliptic-obovate to elliptic, simple, alternate, entire, pinnately veined, margins spiny serrate-toothed. The foliage is characteristically red when young.  Flowers are perfect, small, white, in terminal corymbose panicles. Fruits are a small, berry-like, red, globose pome. 

Campus data: Very frequently cultivated everywhere on campus. Creates dense tall walls of evergreen vegetation.
