Common name: Wisteria.

Brief description: (generic) A woody twining vine. Leaves are alternate, odd-pinnately compound. Flowers are perfect, blue, in large racemes in early spring. Fruits are a linear, dehiscent legume (pod). 

Campus data: Occasionally in the wild on campus. In some spots it is quite abundant and can take over the undergrowth and climb and suffocate trees.
