a standing committee composed of Faculty, Students, and Staff charged with the development of environmental awareness and support for effective environmental action at the University

This site has been designed to improve access for those using a text reader.  In addition, it is designed to reduce potential carbon signature by (1) use of a font that enhances online readability, (2) use of font size and formats for documents stored on the site that permit printing using the least amount of paper, and (3) avoidance of graphics and excessive bolding that use large amounts of ink when printed.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS GROUP'S CHARGE

The Environmental Awareness Group (EAG) will:

 

[1] monitor progress toward meeting the environmental goals in the Campus Master Plan,

[2] report frequently to the campus community on the extent to which these goals are being met,

[3] initiate studies of the campus environment,

[4] recommend to the Provost steps that the University should take to protect and improve the natural environment, and

[5] promote environmental sustainability on campus.

MEMBERSHIP

The Environmental Awareness Group membership consists of faculty, staff and student representatives:

 

[1] Three faculty members appointed to three-year rotating terms with reappointment possible.  Two faculty members will be from Arts and Sciences and one from either Robbins School of Business, Law School, Jepson School of Leadership Studies, or School of Continuing Studies.  The chair of the committee will be a faculty member.  Faculty members are:

 

Jerry Gilfoyle - Arts and Sciences (1st of 3 years, expiring 2010)
Walter Green - School of Continuing Studies (2nd of 3 years., expiring 2009) - Chair of the Group
Maren Reiner- Arts and Sciences (1st of 1 year, expiring 2008)


[2] Staff representatives will be the Associate Vice President of Facilities or designate, Director of University Services or designate, and the manager of Environmental Services.

[6] The EAG welcomes other members of the University to participate in the activities and deliberations in a non-voting capacity.
