Process
Congratulations! Your real
estate team has been #1 in sales in the past five years for your region. A
new wave of colonists is planning on coming over soon, so you really want
to make this deal to stay on top of the competition. Your group will do research
and make a presentation about why the colonists should come to your area.
1) Research: each group member will pick a role. Each role has specific research
topics. You will research these topics for all three regions. Click the title
of your role to view your research worksheet.

2) Write: After finishing research, write a summary of your research.
3) Art Project: After a peer-edit and final review of your summary, make a visual representation of your research. This could be anything you want: a map, a drawing, a picture, a diorama, a model, be creative!
4) Brochure Board: After completing individual projects, the group should come back together to make its “brochure board”. Share research with one another and get ready to create your brochure board. The board is a three-paneled, three-dimensional board on which you will create a large scale brochure. As a group, decide which points of each person's research are most important to share. Write this information in short, catchy phrases (i.e.: "friendly neighborhood Indians"). You should also have other pictures and graphics on the board itself to make it interesting to look at. Part 2: Decide within your group which region you would choose based on your research. Create a (8.5" x 11") brochure highlighting the reasons for your decision. 5) Real Estate Fair: Each real estate team will present their brochure board to the class while a special dignitary, representing the colonists, listens to the presentations. At the conclusion of the presentations the group will present their brochure and explain their decision. After the presentations, the special dignitary will decide which colony they will move to.
WRAP-UP
1) After the Real Estate Fair, complete the Venn Diagram about similarities and differences among the three regions of colonies.
2) Write an essay describing in which colony you use to live and why. Please use resources from that region’s real estate team’s brochure board and presentation.
