The Process

Step 1: You will be assigned a group and roles by your teacher.

Step 2: Use the sites listed below to help you gather information. The research guide will  help you with this search.

Step 3: Record important facts on individual note cards. This will help you organize your information that will make putting the poster together more easy

• Cultural Investigator: Your job will be to investigate the different aspects of every day life in Ancient Greece. Use the sites listed below to focus on the following topics: Clothing, Religion, Music, Sports. Write down detailed notes to use later for your book. How are these aspects similar to our lives today? How are they different?

• Economist: Your job will be to examine the money and how it is used. First, investigate what kind of money did people in Ancient Greece use? Did they trade or purchase goods? What kinds of goods were commonly purchased/traded?  Also investigate the jobs of Ancient Greece.  What types of jobs did men and women do? What jobs were important?

• Geography expert: Your task is to become an expert on the land. Investigate the geography, terrain, and how the land is used (for farms, water, etc…) Gather enough information to draw a map and a diagram describing how the land was used.

• Government investigator: Your job will be to investigate how cities in Ancient Greece were run. Who were in charge of towns? What type of government existed? Gather enough information accurately portray their government in a book.  Focus on the different positions and what role they play.

Step 4: Once every group member has completed their task, discuss your findings with each other. Share what you have found and what new things you have learned.

Step 5: Decide how you want to create your book. Your book should be creatively present your findings in an organized way. Use graphic organizer 1 and graphic organizer 2 to help. The book should accurately portray your new Ancient Greek friends and be able to teach your classmates about what Ancient Greece is truly like. The townspeople are depending on you, so pay attention to details!
