Evaluation

In your final grade for this project, the paper with research sheet will count 35%, the presentation will count 65%. Classmates will fill out the rubric for the presentation during presentation to help them make their decision.

Rubric for Position Paper and research sheet (individual)

Research is adequate	Little or no sources were read without many notes.	Some sources were reviewed and notes demonstrate limited information.	Research is complete, sheet makes it clear that adequate resources were used(at least 5) and good notes were taken.
Language	Limited vocabulary is used and grammar is elementary, language inhibits the understanding of the paper greatly.	Grammar and Vocabulary mistakes are frequent, language does not flow.	High Spanish proficiency is apparent, grammar and vocabulary is used in an exemplary fashion.
Position	Does not take one side of argument, facts are not used to support ideas.	Position is not clear cut, some distraction from point being made, facts are used but not always related to position.	Paper takes a clear side and supports it well, persuades the reader with facts and writing style.
Length	Paper is less than one and a half pages.	N/A	Paper is two pages.

Rubric for Presentation (whole group)

Good points are made, but facts are not adequate and do not prove the point being made. Does not consider counterpoints.	Overall impression and delivery of facts convinces audience. Presentation was well planned and coherent.	No apparent organization, thoughts were not connected or comprehensible.	Organization was minimal, thoughts were not understandable.	Presentation is enhanced by impressive evaluation and fluidity between thoughts and ideas.
All sides of the argument were addressed.	Only one side was presented.	Oppsosing side was presented but not refuted.	Opposing side was presented and refuted.
Creativity	Material was presented in a dull manner with no original presenting ideas.	Material was presented an interesting way.	Material was presented in a creative and original way.
Plan for July 25, 2002	No plan was presented.	A plan was briefly mentioned.	Extensive plan was presented.
