Conclusion

The purpose of this WebQuest is to expose your students to the writing process, working as a collective group, and using their creative juices to complete the task of rewriting a classic tale and turing it into something of their own. In addition, your students are being asked to read their book to a kindergarten class, which encompasses two very important Virginia SOL's:

This project will help your students develop efffective oral communication skills. Having your students read this book to other younger students will also increase their confidence.

As another activity, consider having your students develop a short play to present their books.Also, you may want to choose other books, perhaps books or stories that you have read together as a class, to rewrite and make into a book.
