This WebQuest was designed to cover the subject areas of literature and history for eighth graders according to the Virginia Standards of Learning. Creative writing and art are also prevalent in the construction of the culminating project.

Students that are diverse learners may have trouble with this project as reading and writing are large components. Therefore pairing them up with students that are stronger in English may be helpful. Other adaptations may include finding sites or information that is for a younger age group.

Entry Level Skills and Knowledge

Students should have a fairly strong background in reading comprehension, the writing process, and how to complete basic operations on a computer.

The teacher needs to have a base knowledge of Ancient Greece and the different variations of the Cinderella story. The teacher also needs to know basic computer operations in case the students have questions. This lesson is relatively easy to conduct even for a novice teacher.
