Conclusion
The Colonial America WebQuest is an interactive tool that allows students to discover factual and interesting information on colonial America. Upon completion of the WebQuest, students will have a working knowledge about colonial America. They will discover characteristics of colonial America, including the lives of slaves, women, farmers, and artisans. Students will demonstrate oral and written language arts skills as they work together in groups of four to compile the information they discover from guided questions and links within the WebQuest.
The final product will be a journal entry which describes the lives of slaves, women, farmers, and artisans. In addition, the groups will create a play depicting the lives of their chosen individuals. Both the journal entry and the play allow for evaluation of student's creativity, language arts skills, cooperative learning and group dynamics, and technology skills. Clearly, this WebQuest allows for instructional activities across the curriculum for any class studying colonial America.
