Evaluation

The students will be evaluated individually and as a group on the final projects (journal entry & play). There will be two grading rubrics used in the evaluation process. The first rubric is for the journal entry, which will be an individual grade. The journal entry should be organized, with well written paragraphs that are free of typographical errors. It should address the statements posed on the role development worksheet and should include many details and examples to support their answers.

The second rubric is for the play each group will create. The play should portray the lives of the individuals in colonial America. The play should display creativity through the use of costumes and dialogue. Group dynamics should also be evaluated. Look for degree of cooperation among group members, sharing of tasks and materials, equal distribution of work, and no individuals dominating the process.

See Student Evaluation page for grading rubrics.
