The Colonial America WebQuest covers fifth grade United States History content of the Virginia Standards of Learning. The WebQuest also covers a variety of English and Computer/Technology standards.

The students need to have a background in reading comprehension, writing, and the use of computers. One half of the students' grade will be on the journal entry making it neccesary for them to have a background in Microsoft Word and the art of writing. Students only need minimal background with researching the Internet as websites are provided for the students.

Students need very little historical knowledge to embark on this WebQuest. They should have a general knowledge of the Colonial Era but this WebQuest is designed to teach the students about this period as they complete their project.
