Introduction

Iraq has recently been liberated from the Hussein dictatorship and will soon be forming a new government and holding elections.  In order to form a foundation for their new government, citizens of Iraq will need to form to a new constitution.  Imagine you have recently been elected to public office.  You and your colleagues will form a committee that will write the new constitution for Iraq.  In writing this, you and your colleagues will have to consider the customs and traditions of the area and compose a constitution that will be the basis for a successful government in Iraq.  You will be using the Constitution of the United States as a model for your own constitution.  Keep in mind that your ideas must be ratified by the Iraqi people.  Upon completion of the Iraqi constitution, your committee will present your final document to the Iraqi citizens (class) who will choose to ratify it by a majority vote or reject it.
