A. The Creation Story

 

The story is poorly written. It contains only one main character, and it tells a story with few details, only explaining how the Earth was created. The story lacks creativity and originality. It is difficult to understand and leaves the reader with little knowledge of how creation occurred.
The story is adequately written. It contains two to three main characters, and tells a story with a few details about how the Earth and humans were created. The story is somewhat creative, but lacks flair. The story is easy to understand, but leaves the reader with questions.
The story is extensively written. It contains four or more main characters, and it tells a story with many details about how the Earth and humans were created. The story is creative and original. The story reads easily and leaves the reader with very few questions.
 

 

B. The Interpretive Dance

 

 

The dance lasts less than two minutes and contains repetitive movements. The dance shows loose choreography and minimal rehearsal. The dance is not highly engaging for audience.
The dance lasts 2-3 minutes and contains a few different movements. The dance shows evidence of planned choreography and moderate rehearsal. The dance is interesting to the audience.
The dance lasts 3-5 minutes and contains a wide of variety movements. The dance shows evidence of intricate choreography and extensive rehearsal. The dance is engaging to the audience and exciting to watch.
 

 

 

 

C. The Cave Drawings

 

 

The drawings show little detail and do not express any significant meaning. The final product suggests little planning prior to the actual product. Characters are indistinguishable. Those who look at the drawings come away with very little knowledge of the creation story.
The drawings show some detail to express meaning. The story they tell follows an order of events. The final product suggests loose planning prior to the final drawings. Some characters are indistinguishable. Viewers of these drawings have a quite a few questions about the events in the story.
The drawings are very detailed and expressive. They tell a story in an obvious sequential order of events. The characters drawn are easily recognized. It is evident that planning took place. Those who look at the drawings have very few questions about the events in the story.

You will also be graded on your ability to work well in a group. Cooperation, helping others with their tasks, good discussions, and each member contributing equally to the finished product are all going to be looked for in addition to the quality of the project. There will be a common grade for group work. This grade will be factored in with the above rubric.
