The Process

Step 1:

Your teacher will divide the class into groups of three for this project.

Step 2:

Your teacher will assign each person in the group a particular role. You are responsible to conduct research on the issue as it relates to your area of expertise. You are the only expert in your area, and therefore it is important to take your research seriously.

The three expert roles and their duties are as follows:

Historian

Scientist

Mathematician

Step 3:

After each expert has been assigned, you will begin to research your area. Keep a journal about the information you find concerning your area of expertise. You will use the Internet to conduct your research and find information about these events.

Step 4:

After conducting your individual research about each disaster, share what you have found with your group. You will work together to design a proposal and presentation about the decision you make about where Farmer Hunt's future farm should be located.

Step 5:

You will present your decision and supporting reasons in an oral and visual presentation. You will present to your class and teachers, who will represent Farmer Hunt. Your grade will be based on your presentation and journal and will be determined using the posted grading rubric.
