This WebQuest primarily follows the Virginia Standards of Learning for third grade science. Social Studies and English standards are also included to a lesser degree to create a cross-curricular lesson. While the SOLs correlate with third grade, this WebQuest could be too challenging for the average third grader and would probably be better suited for gifted students.

To successfully complete this project, students will need a basic understanding of Internet navigation and word processing. It is also essential for students to be able to work effectively in small groups.
