The Task

You will work in a group of three students, each playing a role, for this task. Your team will be trying to renovate the Greenwood Park in San Diego, California; so you will begin by searching for materials needed to make the park beautiful once again. This renovation will include:

• Landscaping
• Replacement and addition of recreation equipment
• Replacement and addition of facilities within the park

In your specific roles, you will research equipment and facilities from various manufacturers and decide on which you will use to replace the originals in Greenwood Park. Remember to choose materials for cost and function. After deciding on the different items individually, you will come together in your group and make a final decision. Then you will create a budget of your renovation costs so the mayor can choose a good plan for a good price.

After creating the renovation plan, you will draw the park layout after your renovations with pictures from the Web. You will present this on a piece of poster board. Although several items are already located within the park, you will be able to move them to where you choose when you create your renovated park.
