Government Expert

As the expert on Mali’s government you will be in charge of researching some of the famous kings of the time period. You should also be sure to discover the basics of how their government was run by these kings.

You should use the links provided and think about these questions when you are researching:

Who was Sundjata?
When did Sundjata rule and what were some of his accomplishments?
Who was Mansa Musa?
When did Mansa Musa rule and what were some of his accomplishments?
Which famous ruler founded the empire of Mali?
Who ruled Mali before this king?
Where is Timbuktu?
Why is this city so famous? Which ruler made it famous?

You don’t have to answer all of these questions or just these questions alone. To come up with at least eight pieces of information on your own, you will need to find a variety of information. Use these questions as a starting point for your research.
