The task of your group is to investigate the conditions on Mars and report your findings to the humans who live on Earth in the form of a news broadcast. Remember, this will be the first time that any humans who are currently living on Earth will hear that there is a colony of humans on Mars! In order to accomplish this task, each person in your group will choose one of 4 roles:
Habitat
Specialist: Determines why colonizing Mars would be beneficial to humans
who are living on Earth
Agricultural/Meteorology
Specialist: Determines how the basic needs of humans can be met on Mars
Communication/Transportation
Specialist: Determines what type of transportation and communication systems
can exist on Mars based on the current conditions of the planet
Recreation/Entertainment
Specialist: Determines what type of recreation, sports, and entertainment
would be suitable to the conditions that exist on Mars
When completing your role, keep in mind that you will need to do background research to find out about the differences between the conditions on Earth and Mars before you can complete your task. Remember that CREATIVITY is important! Use your research and imagination to complete this task as best you can. Once you complete your individual tasks, come back together as a group to write and perform your special news report that will be viewed by all Earthlings. More detailed information about each role and specific tasks can be found on the process page. Good luck with your task and have fun!
