The Task

Your task is to work together in a group of four students to formulate a State of the Union Address for the President.  It is the first year in office for the President and she must make her positions clear on some critical issues in American politics and daily life.

Each group member will take a role in designing the speech by addressing a particular topic of concern in response to the current attitudes of the people, the media, and possible interest groups.  Individual research will then combine and the group members will act collectively as speechwriters.

The goal of this speech is to evoke public and media support for the new President.  She has four years ahead of her; it is important to create a policy that will capture attention and unite the people to support her agenda in her attempt to help the people.
