Learners
The students have been given general criteria about assessment in the student page. Students need to understand and analyze the texts they have been assigned, they need to synthesize the information that they and other group members have read. They will make decisions about how each of these men should be portrayed, if at all, and be able to explain their decision persuasively both orally and in writing. I have not included rubric, because it is sometimes difficult to use someone else's preconstructed assessment framework. You may want to design a rubric with student input.
Possible Variations
You can use as much of this lesson or as little as you like. You may choose to use it simply for the links like a reference hotlist. You can change the task. Students could design a powerpoint presentation about what they learned. They could create a video, or make a newspaper or magazine.
