* Additional Reference material in the classroom or in the library is helpful but not necessary as students work on their projects.
* If you choose to video student presentations, a video camera will be needed.

I have not listed the links that are already avaliable through the student page here, but here are some other links that will help connect you and your students to useful sites.

* EDSITEment (http://edsitement.neh.fed.us/) This site includes links to top humanities web sites.

* American Memory Collection (http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/index.html)from the Library of Congress This rich collection contains 44 collections including African-American Perspectives and African-American Odyssey.

* The American Experience (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/1900/) : American 1900 from PBS This site contains a number of interviews related to African-Americans in the 1900s. The site also includes other useful links and a teacher's guide.

One teacher should be able to manage this lesson if you ane your students are comfortable using the internet. If not, another teacher, media specialist or technology aid would be helpful. If you can schedule it, this lesson provides a good opportunity for a connection with the art department. You can have a guest expert come in and talk about murals. You may want to consult an art teacher, if you feel uncomfortable about assessing an art project.
