The Task

You
learned on the last page that in the year 1590, something very peculiar happened.
An entire colony disappeared! Unfortunately for you, that's all we're going
to tell you. It is up to you to find out what happened.
You will need a group of four people. If you don't have that many people, take
a few minutes and complete your group! You see, in this task, each of you will
have a very important role. Without each other, this project will never get
done.
The four of you are no longer students. One of you is a journalist/host, and
three of you are historians. With each of your input, you will be responsible
for creating a talk show and video taping it. The "host" is responsible
for running the show. Each historian is responsible for being knowledgeable
on his or her area of expertise. The show you make should be designed similar
to a debate show. It should last about 15 minutes. Here is the breakdown of
the time:
After
you've made your video, the four of you will need to sit down and discuss what
you've learned. You will need to decide which historian you think was correct.
After you've done this, you will need to write a newspaper story that could
possibly fall under the headline on the introduction page. The story needs to
be at least 6 paragraphs long. Try to make it sound like it could go in a newspaper.
Each person should also draw a picture that could accompany the article in the
paper. Good luck! On the process page, you will find a description of each of
the four roles. Decide carefully who will be responsible for each.
