This lesson is anchored in third grade social studies and also involves langauge arts for third grade in the lesser extent.

Prior to working on this WebQuest, students will need to be familiar with colonial settlement and what life was like in early colonial America. Students should also be familiar with the type of writing appropriate for a newspaper article and the type of writing appropriate for a script with many participants. . Familiarity with technology, specifically operating a video camera, would be beneficial for this project.
