Step One consists of dividing the students into
cooperative groups. As the teacher, you should try to put people
of various talents in groups together. For example, do not put all
the artistic people in one group, but rather split them into separate groups.
Once divided the groups must choose which scene they would like to work
with for the duration of the project. We tried to choose scenes that
contain a lot of action and a lot of substance, and therefore the themes
would translate with relative ease. All of these scenes should work
well for the purposes of this project, however if you feel that you would
like your students to concentrate on another scene, that is up to you.
| You will be divided into groups of four students
for the duration of the project. The very first job you will have as group
will be to pick the scene from
Romeo and Juliet that you will be
working with over the next several weeks. You can choose any of the
following scenes. Think carefully before you make your decision!
Act I, Scene i - Verona. A public place. Act I, Scene v - A hall in Capulet's house. Act III, Scene i - A public place. Act V, Scene iii - A churchyard; in a tomb belonging to the Capulets. |
