The Artist

Task:

To add visual elements to the selections in order
to increase appeal. "Visual elements" include:
-
landscape pictures of 19th and 20th century England,
Ireland, and Scotland
-
sketches or cartoon drawings of characters in selected
novels
-
paintings from notable artists of the time period
which may enhance/ compliment an author or poet's work
-
maps of cities
-
photographs which depict people and society in this
time and place
-
To explain the relevance of your selected artworks.
Write short (2-3 sentence) captions for each of the art contributions that
you make. Include the name of the author and the work; briefly explain
the relevance of the art to the text. (Example: This is a photograph of
London, taken in 1854 by Mr. X. The damp, dark streets in the photograph
were described by Charles Dickens' in Hard Times.)

To design a cover for the textbook.

Select the artwork for the cover.

Create a title for the textbook.

index.

search. This is a good resource to use once you have established which
artists' works you are going to include.
