Process

Step 1: Assign the students groups and give each group member one of the four roles.   

These are the roles the teacher must assign to the students:

Step 2: Each student needs to complete his/her research, which will be guided by a handout. The teacher should allow 2-3 class periods for research.

Step 3: Instruct students to share their findings with the group.  What new information they learned, why it is important and how they could incorporate it into one article?

Step 4: Help groups as they analyze their findings and write the article. The teacher should allow 2 class periods for writing the article as a group.

Step 5: The final product will be presented to the class.   Each person presents their research to the class and is evaluated by the teacher. 

Variations

Should Internet computer access not be available, the project can be modified by using art books, appropriate textbooks and encyclopedias.
