Introduction
This lesson began as an assignment for "Integrating Technology into the Curriculum" at the University of Richmond. My goal in creating this project is to make Wuthering Heights more interesting and applicable to everyday life. Too often I have heard students complain about how they hated Wuthering Heights because it was boring or it was old, well all that is about to change!
In this WebQuest, students take the idea behind Wuthering Heights and apply it to a different period. The will take the emotions and relationships present between Linton, Isabella, Heathcliff, and Catherine and translate it to another period. They have the choice to apply it to present day, the 1980s, the 1960s, or the 1920s. If a group choses the present day it will be important to keep reminding them that they need to have research to support their choices and cannot use their personal experiences as the main basis for setting, etc.
Make sure you read the following teacher pages for hints and concerns on how to apply this webquest in the classroom. Have fun!
