This webquest is intended to be implemented in a high school English class that has just completed Wuthering Heights, but the idea could be modified to use with almost any novel.

Prior to this lesson students will need to have a solid grasp on the relationships between Linton, Heathcliff, Isabella, and Catherine. They will also need to understand each character's background as portrayed in Wuthering Heights. Lastly they should have a strong grasp on the plot and aspects of the novel that are specific to that period and how they might translate to other periods. For example they should understand that Heathcliff was a gypsy and what gypsies are so that they can create an equivalent background for him in their rewrite. Students should also have access to computers and have basic computer skills such as searching using Internet search engines.
