Alophia silvestris (Loes.) Goldblatt

Herb with a bulbous rootstock; leaves alternate and borne edge to edge, simple, sword-like, leaf veins parallel, raised slightly above the leaf blade surface, giving the leaf a ridged-striate appearance; sepals and petals lavender with reddish purple markings at the pale yellow center; anthers fused in a ring-like cylinder surrounding the style; stigmas 6; ovary inferior.
