Weedy
annual herb; leaves alternate, simple, elliptic, base cuneate,
margin entire, apex acuminate; inflorescence a bristly panicle
of spikes arising at the stem apex and, to a lesser extent, the
upper nodes; flowers minute,pale green, in the axils of soft-bristled
bracts; fruit a pyxis.
