Annona squamosa L.; saramuyo

Small tree; leaves alternate, arranged horizontally in two rows on branchlets, simple, base rounded, margin entire, apex acute; flowers pendent, with three prominent petals; fruit an aggregate of numerous fleshy carpels, the crevices between adjacent carpels producing a reticulate or network-like pattern, edible.
