Herbaceous
annual; leaves opposite, 2 to 3 times pinnately compound; leaf
segments of variable size and shape, margins irregularly toothed,
apex acute to attenuate; heads on long stalks; involucre 2-seriate;
florets yellow; achenes +/- cylindrical; pappus with downwardly
barbed awns.
