Shrub;
leaves opposite, simple, ovate, acuminate; foliar veins deeply
impressed on the upper leaf surface; stems, petioles and lower
leaf surfaces covered with minute stellate trichomes; inflorescence
a dense, more or less flat-topped, axillary cyme; flowers small,
white, opening nearly synchronously throughout each cyme; stamens
well exserted; fruits small black drupes.
