Cissus gossypifolia Standley (syn: Cissus formosa Standley)

Woody liana climbing via leaf-opposed tendrils; stems and petioles often reddish to bright red; leaves alternate, dimorphic; juvenile (lower) leaves deeply palmately lobed; mature (upper) leaves shallowly palmately lobed and palmately veined; inflorescence a compound cyme arising directly opposite a leaf; flowers and inflorescence axes bright red; fruit reddish purple.
