Tough-stemmed subshrub to 1 m tall; leaves alternate, simple, ovate, base rounded, margin toothed, apex acute; inflorescence cymose, leaf-opposed; flowers yellow; fruit an elongate 2-valved capsule, each valve with two small projections at the apex.
