Woody
liana; bark separating into coarse longitudinal strips, dark;
shoots dimorphic; spur shoots bearing flowers and fruits and also
forming tendril-like coils that thicken and become woody with
age; leaves alternate, pinnately compound; leaflets alternate
on the rachis, elliptic to obovate, margins entire, apex rounded
or with a small notch (retuse); flowers in short axillary panicles;
legume fruits flat one-seeded pods.
