Eugenia foetida Pers. [syn. Eugenia buxifolia (Swartz.) Willd.]

Small tree with mottled, exfoliating bark; leaves opposite, simple, elliptic to obovate, base acute, margin entire, apex rounded; flowers axillary; fruit globose, a rather thinly fleshed dry berry.
