Small tree; trunk surface slightly rippled in old specimens; bark mottled in shades of gray and tan; leaves opposite, simple, elliptic, oglong or obovate, notably short-petiolate, base rounded or obtuse, margin entire, apex acute to obtuse, densely pubescent; flowers in axillary cymes, short-pedicelled; fruits fleshy, the surface finely hairy.
