Tree; leaves opposite (or sub-opposite), simple, oblong-elliptic, base rounded, margin entire, apex acute, pinnately veined with many closely-spaced secondary veins; flowers small, axillary; fruits small blackish drupes.

Seeds are reported to be poisonous, causing paralyis or death if consumed (Standley 1930).
