Leonotis nepetaefolius (L.) R. Brown

Herb; stems 4-angled and grooved; leaves opposite, simple, ovate, base cuneate, margin toothed, apex acute, soft-pubescent; inflorescnece a series of globose verticils from the upper several nodes; corollas bilabiate, orange; fruit retained within the persistent calyx, 4 nutlets.

This African native is cultivated as an ornamental and sometimes naturalizes in the vicinity of settlements. At Kiuic, individuals can be found in the camp area, near the old Canul family dwellings.
