Creeping herbs, rooting at the nodes; leaves opposite, simple, margins coarsely toothed from below middle to apex, apex acute to rounded, base tapered, both surfaces with malpighiaceous hairs; inflorescences dense, short, spikes arising from leaf axils, the peduncle longer than subtending leaf.
