Weedy
herb covered with soft pubescence; leaves opposite, simple, lance-ovate,
base somewhat decurrent on the petiole, margin toothed, apex acute;
inflorescence a head (capitulum) enveloped by two series of bracts,
outer bracts foliaceous, linear, of variable length; flowers minute,
white.
